Szeptunka Russian Banya
Slavic Traditions
The tradition of Slavic gatherings in the banya dates back to the 10th century AD. It was a way to maintain good health—both physical and spiritual. The banya was considered a sacred place, where one was expected to behave with the same reverence as in a temple. Just as we invite our guests into the world of Szeptunka, in the past, weary travellers were welcomed into the banya. The ritual of the banya engages three elements: fire, water, and air. If you wish to embrace the true spirit of the Slavs, follow their tradition and wish those entering the banya “light steam.”
At Szeptunka, the rituals are overseen by an experienced Sauna Master—a mindful guardian and gentle guide. With their expertise, even guests new to high-temperature experiences will achieve deep relaxation and immerse themselves in the world of Slavic traditions.
Rituals
A Place of Relaxation, but Also a Traditional Source of Health
Our specialty is Slavic rituals. These include infusions made from herbs we grow and gather ourselves, as well as birch, oak, and nettle twigs from the surrounding forests, and the smoke that, in this secondary cycle, takes us back to our roots, providing the full power of Mother Nature. For the twig massages, we use birch, oak, wormwood, lime, larch, eucalyptus, juniper, and even nettle twigs. The steam bath, combined with twigging, aims to enhance blood circulation in the skin and deeper tissues. The essential oils found in the leaves further “energize” the body.
Compared to the more widely known Finnish sauna, the banya provides lower temperatures (60 – 70°C), higher humidity (up to 70%), and longer ritual durations (up to 2 hours). Upon special request, we combine twig massage rituals with steam bathing, offering the most discerning guests a complete spectrum of relaxation.
Aromatherapy
For Improved Well-Being and Relaxation
Szeptunka’s sonatas blend pleasure with health benefits. Our Sauna Master carefully selects essential oils for the rituals we conduct. Aromatherapy, as ancient as the forest itself, is used to improve both mental and physical well-being. In the Russian Banya, this effect is intensified by the heat distributed through the steam, allowing the scent to be absorbed not only through the respiratory system but also through the skin. This enhances the sensory experience, providing us with deep relaxation.

Banya and Beauty
Take care of your body and mind
The Banya is a true treasure for beauty. Using the rituals in the Banya improves skin condition at all levels: strengthens the skin’s barrier, helps remove its dead outer layer, hydrates the skin and accelerates cellular renewal. This makes the cosmetics applied to the body and hair work in a wider spectrum. Steam baths act like lymphatic drainage, unblock pores, and strengthen skin blood flow, improving its color. Scars become more elastic, and healing processes speed up. Those struggling with acne and psoriasis will experience particular benefits. The Russian Banya is a true ally in the fight for youthful, firm, and beautiful skin.

Banya for Children
For the youngest
Is the Banya suitable for children?
Yes, as long as the child has developed thermoregulation. Depending on whether they were breastfed or based on previous illnesses, the age limit is set between 8 and 12 months. Children from the age of 2 can enter the Banya with a Sauna Master. We suggest family sessions.
We organize sauna events for children aged 5 to 12 years. Each such meeting begins with a lecture. It’s an engaging and attractive time that combines fun with health benefits for the youngest.

Regeneration for Athletes
Complementing training for athletes
Sports also involve regeneration. Sauna sessions are a valuable supplement to training for athletes.
Alternating between warming and cooling the body toughens and regenerates muscles, improves heart and lung performance, and accelerates oxygenation. Steam baths speed up breathing, reducing oxygen debt. Lactic acid accumulated in muscles breaks down faster due to increased oxygen intake. The Banya is the perfect antidote for muscle soreness.
Steam baths increase the number of red blood cells produced, which acts like a detox because red blood cells cleanse the body of toxins. Moreover, under the influence of heat, connective tissue becomes more elastic, and joint capsules receive more blood, which increases mobility.
